U. City hosted 17 students from Ritenour and Fox High Schools on Jan. 14 as part of the sibling school exchange with the Student Summit for Race. They spent the day shadowing U. City students in their classes, ending with lunch and a planning meeting for a change agent project to benefit people in the St. Louis community. On Jan. 27, the three sibling schools presented their project at the UMSL Race Summit, which is to clean up Greenwood Cemetery in Normandy, a historically black cemetery where, among others, Dred Scott’s wife is buried. The cemetery is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. All students and community members are invited to join this effort on Sat., March 5 along with Jacelynn Allen, Pablo Lopez-Reyna, Whitney Huling, Hannah Fuller, Della Cox, Raven Bullock, Kathyrn Fuller.
