A select number of student journalists were invited to interview Stefanie Scott, former Disney channel actress now taking on the lead role in the third installment of the ‘Insidious’ franchise.  Although the role is rather different from the ones of her past, Scott explains that taking the lead in ‘Insidious 3’ was a pleasure.

“God, it was so fun,” said Scott. “ I’m really into any way – any kind of horror thriller film.  It’s definitely my kind of movie.  And I love dark creepy things.  So, I wasn’t really – I was just really excited to be a part of it.  I was a big fan of the first two films.”

Via telephone, Scott gushed about her experiences on the set and some of the details of the upcoming film. To prepare for the film she even visited a psychic.

“The director, Leigh Whannell, actually had me go see a psychic for the film, which is what my character does in the movie which was a really intense experience,” Scott said.

For audiences awaiting its release on June 5, she ensures that ‘Insidious 3’ will not disappoint fans of the series.

“It’s definitely fresh,” Scott said. “It’s the origin story so it tells it from the beginning.  And it really does set up the other two movies. But, what’s so great about it is, I think you get to – it’s definitely different. I think it’s the darkest out of all of them.”
